Profiling is any form of automated processing (without human involvement) of personal information to evaluate certain aspects of a particular individual such as their health, personal preferences, interests, behavior, location or movements. In profiling, information is analyzed to classify people into different groups or sectors, using algorithms and machine learning to predict the behavior of an individual (e.g. John is single so he will buy groceries on Fridays).
