Indiana SB5 is a privacy law that will go into effect on July 1, 2026 and will require certain businesses to have a Privacy Policy that has specific disclosures, provide privacy rights to residents of the state, and require businesses to meet specific requirements to protect privacy. Indiana SB5 will apply to any person doing business in Indiana that during a calendar year controls or processes the personal data of at least 100,000 residents of Indiana or controls or processes the personal data of at least 25,000 residents of the state and devices more than 50% of gross revenue from the sale of personal data.
