Termageddon

  • President – Donata – is a licensed attorney and Certified Information Privacy Professional, as well as the Chair of the Chicago Bar Association’s Privacy and Cybersecurity Committee. She is also a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, a member of the American Bar Association’s Science and Technology Council, and a member of the ABA’s Cybersecurity Legal Task Force.

FreePrivacyPolicy

  • No information on the website or LinkedIn regarding employee experience

Does it help you figure out what privacy laws apply to you?

Termageddon

  • Yes. The first page of the Privacy Policy questionnaire helps determine what privacy laws apply to you. The rest of the questionnaire is based upon the disclosures required by those laws.

FreePrivacyPolicy

  • When you start generating your Privacy Policy, you are not asked about privacy laws. However, once you answer some basic questions, you are asked whether you’d like to upgrade to the professional Privacy Policy: if you select that you want the professional Privacy Policy, then you’re asked about privacy laws.

Privacy Policy generation process

Termageddon

  • First page of the questionnaire actually helps determine what privacy laws apply to you;
  • The questionnaire includes all of the questions needed to create the disclosures required by the privacy laws that apply to you;
  • We don’t make assumptions nor insert generic information for these disclosures;
  • Privacy Policy combines all privacy laws that apply to you and does not include separate sections for each privacy law because that practice makes no sense.

FreePrivacyPolicy

  • When selecting a Privacy Policy that includes CalOPPA and GDPR wording, several important questions were not asked (how the website responds to do not track signals (CalOPPA), nor the legal basis of processing personal information (GDPR), among other things.
  • Does not ask how the personal information being collected is being used by the website (shared, sold, etc). This information is crucial for being able to create the disclosures required by various laws.

Conclusion

Not all privacy policy generators are created equal. While we’re obviously biased towards Termageddon, we still feel it’s the better options for several reasons:

  • It’s founded by a privacy attorney
  • It automatically updates customer policies as laws change
  • It’s questionnaire adapts to your business to ensure proper disclosures are created
  • It has clear pricing with no fees hidden within the generation process

If you made it this far, you’re well on your way to making the right move of researching what’s best for your website/business. If you feel like Termageddon is a good fit, you can check out our Privacy Policy Generator here.
