Frequently Asked Questions

What if my client asks me something I don’t know the answer to?

Option #1: You can also use this client FAQ sheet to respond directly to your client.

Option #2: It’s okay to say “I don’t know, but I know somebody who does” when a client is asking intense data privacy related questions. You can always connect us with your client by having them reach out to us at support@termageddon.com. We will help address any questions your client may have.

Why should I talk about data privacy with my clients?

Privacy is increasingly part of what it means to build and maintain a modern website. Your clients may be collecting personal information through contact forms, analytics, cookies, advertising tools, or other third-party services without realizing the privacy obligations that can come with them.

While it’s ultimately their responsibility to meet these obligations, talking about privacy with your clients helps you identify potential issues before they become problems, while also giving you an opportunity to provide additional value and become a trusted partner that thinks about all aspects of website ownership.

What if I currently provide my own policy templates to my clients?

Given the nature of privacy laws and how often they change, we typically recommend that agencies avoid using pre-written templates.

However, if you are currently using a template, you can still use Termageddon to make the process easier, more scalable, and less risky. Instead of maintaining templates yourself and keeping track of changing privacy laws, you can use Termageddon to generate customized policies for each client and keep them updated as requirements change.

What if my client is not very tech-savvy?

That’s okay. Termageddon is designed with small businesses and agencies in mind to make the process as easy as possible. Termageddon’s questionnaire asks questions about the client’s business/website and will automatically determine what laws apply based on those questions. You can either have the client fill it out themselves, or you can fill it out on their behalf and share the license with your client using Termageddon’s “Share” feature. Once finished, Termageddon generates their policies and provides simple embed code that you (the agency) can add to their website.

What if my client is very busy and worried about the setup process?

For busy clients, Termageddon gives agencies several ways to handle setup. Clients can complete the questionnaire themselves, your agency can complete it on their behalf, or (through our affiliate program) Termageddon offers complimentary onboarding where our team walks the client through the process and handles the follow-up.

This gives agencies flexibility: you can be as hands-on or hands-off as you want. For especially busy clients, you can simply introduce them to Termageddon and let our team handle the setup, then your agency can add the policies to the website once their embed code is created.

My client is small. Do they really need something as comprehensive as Termageddon?

Being a small business doesn’t necessarily mean having simple privacy obligations. Even a small business can use tools like analytics, advertising pixels, contact forms, cookies, or other third-party services that create privacy and disclosure requirements.

Termageddon is an excellent tool to help clients and agencies understand which of the 120 laws, rules, and regulations it covers actually apply to a site. Their tool also automatically updates policies as these laws change, which is especially helpful to smaller clients who may not have a legal team to keep track of these changes.
